So this the tale of my chandelier. Now I never really LOVED my chandelier but I liked it well enough. I am not a person who often spends a lot of money on lighting. I usually can find something I like enough in my budget and when we built the house, this chandelier fit that criteria.
I liked the black framework with the leaves which I felt worked well with the farmhouse look I wanted. I didn’t love the golden/amber shades.
Originally the room was a taupe and they looked better but the taupe had a PINK undertone which I hated and so first chance I got I used paint from my daughter’s room and repainted and this is what it looked like:

Hard to see the chandelier but you get the idea
The amber colour clashed now. I am planning to repaint this room but know the new colour will clash too. So I was tossing around the idea of getting white glass shades instead. My sister even lent me one of hers to try out:

What one of these things is not like the other? (points for singing along)
We were going to consider a swap.
Of course, the shade I gave her to try out on her chandelier was dusty. VERY dusty. LOL! But that ended up being a GREAT thing because she washed it. And do you know what happened when she washed it?
This:

Check out that DUSTY unwashed shade on the left! Wowza!
Yup. The amber colouring was not permanent but painted onto the glass. She called me laughing and happily returned my glass shade.
And I did a little early spring cleaning. This is my chandelier now:

Got to love a FREE change, right? :)
Now I love it.
And I can’t wait to finish the NEXT phase of this room (Yup, it includes paint!)
:)

It looks great! It’s so funny how this all happened. Was meant to be! Now I just need to get my shade back! ;)
